Engine Room in a Box

General Refrigeration can build your refrigeration system onsite or as a transportable package. It is sometimes far more convenient and economical for the customer to have a package constructed in our fabrication shop. A package can contain multiple pieces of equipment that are tailored to meet your company’s specific needs. These pictures illustrate a complete Engine Room being fabricated in a transportable box. A General Refrigeration crew can accompany your new package and complete the installation process onsite to ensure minimum expense and timetable.

Top-of-the-Line Refrigeration System

This engine room was constructed to accommodate an expansion at a meat processing plant. It consists of six Frick screw compressors and two pump packages. The engine room connects to spiral freezers as well as ACUair hygienic air handlers providing positive pressure refrigerated air to the processing areas. A computer control system allows for complete management of the system onsite in addition to providing off-site monitoring. This large scale project has helped to facilitate and increase production.

Jacketed Chillers (Flumes)

General Refrigeration constructs jacketed chillers for multiple industrial refrigeration uses. The jacketed chillers (also known as flumes) pictured above were designed for a chicken processing plant. These flumes were made completely of stainless steel and include sanitary fittings for easy removal and cleaning. The product flows through the inner tube with water while the outer tube holds refrigerant. These flumes are utilized in many industrial applications, including meat and vegetable processing, because they can cool items that are over 100ºF to approximately 33ºF quickly.

Electric Power Generation Service

General Refrigeration offers construction services to power plants. Over the years, we have provided installation requirements for generators, cooling equipment, filtering systems, general piping needs, etc. Pictured above is a complex water filtration system installed to help attain optimum operating conditions at the power station. General Refrigeration is proud to provide construction and maintenance services for the electrical power industry.
