Our Staff
Frank Nechay – is the current President of General Refrigeration and has over 20 years industrial refrigeration experience. He currently holds a Mechanical Contracting License in South Carolina; Refrigeration Contracting License in Tennessee; a Class A HVAC Contractor License in Virginia; a Master HVAC Contractor License in Maryland and Delaware; has Ammonia Emergency Response Team HAZMAT Certification; Frick Company Refrigeration Engineering Program Certification; IIAR/RETA Plant Safety and OSHA Compliance Certification; and IIAR/RETA Industrial Refrigeration School for Operators Certification. He is an active member of RETA, IIAR and currently serves on the Frick Advisory Council as well as IIAR’s Government Relations Committee.

David Hartig – is the current Vice President of General Refrigeration and has over 25 years industrial refrigeration experience.  He previously managed General Refrigeration for over 17 years. He currently holds a Master HVACR license in Maryland and a Stationary Engineer License in Maryland and a Steam Fitter Apprenticeship in Maryland. He has over five years of experience with high pressure boilers. He is a current RETA member, has held various chairs in the local Delmarva RETA chapter, was a past chairman of the National RETA convention and was on the National RETA Convention Committee. He is also a past IIAR member.

Andrew McGill – is the Current Chief Refrigeration Engineer and has over 25 years of industrial refrigeration experience. He is currently responsible for design, estimating, drafting, equipment procurement, and project management of industrial refrigeration systems and skid packages for clients involved primarily in the poultry processing industry and frozen food storage industry. Previously he was Manager of Refrigeration Engineering for Perdue Farms with the majority of his time overseeing a $7,275,000 refrigeration and boiler room expansion project for Perdue’s recently installed further processing/cook facility in Perry, Georgia. He is a current member of IIAR and RETA. He has certifications from Frick Industrial Refrigeration Engineering Program and the Imeco Institute Air Handling for ACUair Hygenic Air Handlers.

Robert Grice – is a Vice President of General Refrigeration and also is a Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Maryland and Delaware. He has over 10 years industrial refrigeration experience.  He has been the local Delmarva RETA Chapter President and Chairman and holds certification from Frick Engineering School and GEA/FES Production Start-up Training School.

Duke Phillips – is our Service Manager.  With over 20 years of experience in the field of industrial refrigeration, Duke understands the customer’s needs and assures their satisfaction. 

Terri Collins – is our Office/Parts Manager.  Terri has a detailed knowledge of the systems we service and puts customer service first to guarantee accuracy and efficiency in our parts delivery.

Robert Ellison - is the Operations Manager of our North Carolina office and has over 20 years of industrial refrigeration experience. Rob possesses a North Carolina Refrigeration License and RETA CARO Certification. He has completed the Steamfitter Apprenticeship program in Maryland, Frick Sales Engineering, Operators and Commissioning Program curriculums, and is HAZMAT Technician Certified. He served as President of the Delmarva RETA Chapter, RETA National President, Membership Chair, Annual Conference Committee Chair, and on the RETA National Board of Directors for 11 years. He currently serves as the Greater Raleigh RETA Chapter President and is an active member of IIAR, RSES, and ASHRAE.

Rick Fahnestock - is an EIT and Project Manager at General Refrigeration in our North Carolina office and has over 10 years experience. A North Carolina State graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Rick specializes in the engineering and coordination of capital improvements, process equipment installation, and facility upgrades. He also supports the design of ventilation and relief systems, covers quality control, and the clarification of field issues.
