General Refrigeration Company is always looking to hire Industrial Refrigeration Service Technicians to support our growing company. Our Service Technicians are the face of our business, and who our customers turn to first when they have a concern. Service Technicians are responsible for providing troubleshooting and repair expertise in addition to aiding our customers in the maintenance of their refrigeration systems.

Job Duties:
  • Provide routine and emergency troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance support for customers on their industrial refrigeration systems.
  • Promote, build, and maintain excellent customer relationships.
  • Document completion of all work done, submitting all required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Frequent communication with supervisor regarding work status updates and/or customer relationship concerns.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of changes and new developments in product and preventive maintenance techniques within the Industrial Refrigeration industry.
  • Care for General Refrigeration assets such as tools, equipment, vehicles, etc.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of Industrial Refrigeration service experience providing routine and emergency troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance support to include a working knowledge of screw and reciprocal compressors, electrical and controls/alarm systems, evaporators, condensers, valves, motors, and pumps.
  • Universal EPA Certification.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to OSHA and industry safety standards.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Position requires pre-employment drug screening, criminal background screening, and driving record check.
  • Ability to be on-call and respond to customers' needs outside of normal working hours, as needed.
  • Ability to travel overnight an average of 10 nights per month.
As a Service Technician Apprentice, you will be working alongside our Industrial Refrigeration Service Technicians each day. You will learn skills that will lead you to be able to provide routine and emergency troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance support to include a working knowledge of screw and reciprocal compressors, electrical and controls/alarm systems, evaporators, condensers, valves, motors, and pumps.
 
Out of town travel will be required typically a few nights per month, but based upon work load and the learning opportunities presented, there may be time periods of greater travel.
 
In addition to on the job training, there is an expectation of independent study and there may be training classes that will require additional travel. General Refrigeration offers a comprehensive Apprenticeship Program backed by the United States Department of Labor that provides participants with a wide variety of additional benefits.

Requirements:
  • Demonstration of at least 5 years of continued experience in a mechanical or electrical capacity.
  • Advanced Knowledge of basic power tools
  • Position requires pre-employment drug screening, criminal background screening, and driving record check.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, and be capable of driving up to 10 hours.
  • Capable of lifting 75lbs frequently throughout the day
  • Must be able to stand, stoop bend, kneel and squat, work at heights and climb ladders throughout the day for extended periods of time
  • Requires working in very hot (above 100F) or very cold (below 10F) temperatures and employees must have the ability to wear all required safety PPE in these conditions.
General Refrigeration Company is looking to hire several welders to support our growing company. Our welders are responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to fabricate product to specifications, or other forms of instruction.
 
Advancement opportunities are available. Regional travel is often required. Long-term, permanent position with benefits and weekly pay.

Key Duties:
  • Position the weld set up, fit the piping and perform welds independently
  • Complete open root welding (no insert)
  • Assist the jobsite team in the following areas: insulation, electrical, and painting
  • Perform load rigging, torch cutting, and leveling with use of measurement tools
  • Other duties as needed on the job sites
Requirements:
  • Position requires pre-employment drug screening, criminal background screening, and driving record check.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, and be capable of driving up to 10 hours.
  • Experience operating industrial lifts.
  • Must be able to pass a two (2) 6G Weld tests within first week of employment. Candidates will be tested on 5" schedule 80 carbon steel stick 6010 root, 7018 cap and on 2" schedule 80 stainless steel TIG root, TIG cap. Must be able to weld beveled pipe.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ industrial pipe welding experience, preferred
  • Capable of lifting 75lbs frequently throughout the day
  • Knowledge of basic power tools
  • Must be able to stand, stoop bend, kneel and squat, work at heights and climb ladders throughout the day for extended periods of time
  • Requires working in very hot (above 100F) or very cold (below 10F) temperatures and employees must have the ability to wear all required safety PPE in these conditions.
  • Preferred candidates will have experience with either ammonia refrigeration pipe, steam or gas line, or process pipe welding
General Refrigeration Company is looking to hire several pipefitters to support our growing company. Our pipefitters are responsible for various types of weld preparation, reading P&ID’s, laying out systems, fitting pipe to ensure that welders have a continuous flow of work. Pipefitters are expected to know different piping material and be able to know how to complete fitting take offs.
 
Advancement opportunities are available. Regional travel is often required. Long-term, permanent position with benefits and weekly pay.

  • Pipefitters are responsible for various types of weld preparation and should be able to layout and prepare piping to be welded into place.
  • Assist the jobsite team in the following areas: insulation, electrical, and painting.
  • Perform load rigging, torch cutting, and leveling with use of measurement tools.
  • Other duties as needed on the job sites.
Requirements:
  • Position requires pre-employment drug screening, criminal background screening, and driving record check.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, and be capable of driving up to 10 hours.

  • Must know how to read a tape measure and be able to complete take offs to fittings.
  • Must know how to do various types of offsets.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ industrial pipefitting experience, preferred.
  • Capable of lifting 75lbs frequently throughout the day.
  • Knowledge of basic power tools. Must be able to stand, stoop bend, kneel and squat, work at heights and climb ladders throughout the day for extended periods of time.
